From the Boldwood Blog
When I began to write The Village of Lost and Found in March last year, I had no idea how the coming 12 months would highlight the importance of community spirit and the places we lived in.
I’d like to tell you about my inspiration for my book The Hat Girl from Silver Street. From a small child I have been fascinated by hats and I have quite a collection now!
Only, I’m an author. And a crisis ferments until it bursts forth into a dramatic story in a format that doesn’t necessarily reflect the true incident, but it has elements of it which are magnified.
The action in The Scarlet Dress takes place in and around the fictional town of Severn Sands, on the Bristol side of the Severn Estuary – the immense stretch of water that separates England and Wales.
Scotland has been my inspiration for nine years. Every time I travel the vast country I now call home, I still find something new and wonderful to grab my interest.
Dogs are important to the main character, Marnie, which is something she and I have in common and the reason why this book is close to my heart.
