#BoldDailyThought – Louise Douglas

The RSPB reserve on the Avalon Marshes in Somerset is one of my favourite places. At this time of year, around half a million starlings roost in the reedbeds every night.

I like to think that, even if we can’t visit them, the marshes are still there, the starlings are still murmurating, the sun still sinks in the West, moonlight is still reflected in the rhynes, mist still flows over the lowlands like water, the owls still call and Glastonbury Tor still stands watch over it all.

It’s such a beautiful world.
