Boldwood announces further author acquisitions as sales exceed 2 million
Boldwood is delighted to announce its most recent author acquisitions – bringing the total number of writers on the list to 44. This comes at a time when the company, which has been publishing for 15 months, has generated over two million sales across all formats and was named Newcomer of the Year at the IPA awards in September. The three new Boldwood authors are already successfully published writers – Jo Bartlett and Lisa Hobman both have several women’s fiction bestsellers under their belts and Maddie Please, having been a mistress of romantic comedy, is now turning her attention to jaunty hen lit! All the authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories. The Latest Boldwood Authors
Jo Bartlett is the bestselling author of nineteen women’s fiction titles. She fits her writing in between her two day jobs as an educational consultant and university lecturer and lives with her family and three dogs on the Kent coast. Boldwood is publishing the first title in The Cornish Midwife Series – part of a twelve-book deal – in April 2021.
Lisa Hobman has written many brilliantly reviewed women’s fiction titles – the first of which was shortlisted by the RNA for their debut novel award. In 2012 Lisa relocated her family from Yorkshire to a village in Scotland and this beautiful backdrop now inspires her uplifting and romantic stories. Her first title for Boldwood Dreaming Under an Island Skye will be published in February 2021.
Maddie Please is the author of four bestselling romantic comedies, having had a career as a dentist and now lives in rural Devon where she enjoys box sets, red wine and Christmas. She will be taking a new direction in her writing for Boldwood with joyous tales of older women – the first of which The Old Ducks’ Club will be published in May 2021.
